Creating Sacred Space with Feng Shui

Orange rose Hi Karen,

It has been a very enlightening experience to read your book on Space Clearing. I am of Malaysian Chinese origin and brought up tending towards the Buddhist/Taoist/Confucianist way. After reading your book, I can understand a lot of your methods and the basis behind them - facts which I grew up with but had never understood the reason why.

Thank you for sharing with us your experience and knowledge.

A major challenge I've been dealing with has been my husband's lack of support for any of my interests (Feng Shui, Space Clearing) and projects (Interior Design, Jewelry Making, Art)... Well, when asked he said he didn't care what I did so when he was away with his friends I did a major Space Clearing of our home.

I took out the negative energy... lack of confidence, motivation, trust... all the confusion from the house.  Then I put in joy, purity, confidence, motivation, passion... Well, I felt a difference but was honestly thinking maybe it was just me. She ran into the house and stopped about 6 feet inside and just sat down and looked around. She looked puzzled. Then slowly she explored the house and checked out all her toys, etc.

Later, when my husband came home, he didn't sense or say anything. As I usually do when I'm out running errands, I called him to see if he needed me to stop at the market. He said no, he was clutter clearing. That made me laugh and I asked what of mine he was throwing out (he thinks all my stuff is clutter and his is a treasure). He said none of it was mine and that I'd see when I got home. Well, when I got home he had thrown out boxes and boxes of stuff from the 70s, a bunch of posters that were covering all the garage walls, and all his paperwork and pictures from a previous marriage (30 years ago). That is a very big deal. I'm a believer!

Dear Karen,

I have read widely in my life, but no other book has ever imparted such a wonderful feeling of completeness and knowing.

Dear Karen,

This is just a brief note to say thank you for helping me to sort my life out! I read Creating Sacred Space with Feng-Shui about 6 months ago, and had a big think and a sort-out, and suddenly everything is swimming again - my relationship is revived, I've been inundated with job offers (after two lousy jobs with no prospects and redundancy), I'm no longer broke, and I'm even beginning to feel hopeful about my ability to patch things up with my mother after a long period of misunderstandings!

It feels as if your advice gave me the impetus to change things, helped me see more clearly and prioritize better, and the physical Feng Shui changes helped things to flow along clear channels again. It's also amazing the number of people who have recently commented on how welcoming and sparkly the house feels now!

Dear Karen,

Thank you for your amazing book, Creating Sacred Space with Feng Shui. I read it from start to finish and couldn't put it down. The clutter is cleared, with the exception of the loft which is a slow process but is happening in small doses. I feel so much lighter with four rubbish sacks full of clothes and odds and ends delivered to the charity shop! The day I finished the bedroom I felt so elated, as if a burden had been lifted. The next day I had a letter from my new place of employment, where I'm due to start next week, stating more annual pay than I'd been told originally! In fact, it was exactly the amount I had been aiming for when I'd been applying for posts but I'd accepted this job because of other its other benefits.

The space clearing was great, very uplifting. When I began the clapping I could hear a difference in tone in certain areas of the house, the more organised, tidier areas sounded much clearer and sharper.

Thank you for confirming all I ever believed about my house and the feelings I had about objects in it. The next stage, when I can afford it, is to sign up for a course, I can't wait! Thank you again,

Dear Karen,

I attended your superb Space Clearing course in London. After two years of studying feng shui your course made me "see the light" and I have experienced so many new feelings and happenings since which I cannot put into words.

What I thought you may like to know (and I believe this was in connection with your course) is about my two daughters Charlotte (4) and Abigail (2) who have always intuitively moved their own belongings around in their own rooms. However, I came home on the Sunday evening after the course, just in time to see them coming out of the bath, and Abigail (2) went into her room and started clapping all around in corners, under her bed and all over her toys. I was amazed to see her doing what you had just taught us to do that very afternoon!

I asked her what she was doing and she replied, "Just making my room feel nicer and cuddlier, Mummy. Do you want me to do yours?" I just hugged her because I could not believe my eyes or ears. They continue to amaze me at other things they have said and done since your course but that instance, I have to say, was quick work, Karen!

Many other amazing things have happened over the past couple of months since I clutter cleared as much as I could and space cleared our home. My husband, Stuart, has been 'headhunted' and we are now in the process of job interviews and offers which will be a major step forward for us. I feel safer in our home (Stuart travels abroad a lot with his work) and the girls seem to have developed so much more energy both physically and mentally. You are truly inspirational.

Dear Karen,

I just wanted to let you know that my endeavor with space clearing was remarkable to me as a ritual alone. It took all the time, planning, decluttering and intention I could muster. It never occurred to me that each and every element of the ritual (arranging the flowers, etc.) would take on a personality of it's own...the clapping procedure took on it's own cadence...it was like a dance. And creating a circle of sound was very magical.

Afterward, I was surprised how much strength I had used since I had very little left for anything else.

Your book is so elegantly clear - yet I believe you must have, in wisdom, omitted volumes to deliver it's comprehensive overview of topics.

Dear Karen,

I would like to thank you for effecting a positive change in my life through your book. Quite a few of the rituals you have mentioned are part of our culture. Being an educated person my mind refused to follow them because I was not given a reason as to why I should follow these rituals. After reading your book I have been given the answers. Though you are a million miles away, you have been able to touch me and enrich me with your words.

Dear Karen,

Thank you for your books. They have changed my life. Now I am myself again and I am realizing my professional dream by learning sculpture in Quebec City. I've waited 10 years to do that! Today I am in this dream and I can't believe it!

Hi Karen,

I have read your book, Creating Sacred Space with Feng Shui, and it is just what I need and is such an inspiration. My problem is just if I put the book aside for a couple of days I lose the inspiration and become my usual self. I realize I need this book around my neck, in front of my eyes. It is a wonderful book that holds all the essentials in life.

Dear Karen,

I have recently read your book, Creating Sacred Space with Feng Shui, from cover to cover (over and over again). Having moved into an unfriendly uninspiring house recently, I used several of your recommendations and am absolutely delighted with the change it has made to my life by uplifting and enhancing my 'habitation space'.

Dear Karen,

While reading your book I felt as if I were 'remembering' rather than learning new. You appear to have tapped into some knowledge that deeply resonates with the ancient quality of our being and yet is so applicable to our present times.
